They need to put in a fast travel. Collecting kickback money takes forever and is a pain. If I could just fast travel to each of the 3 it would make it a lot less annoying and I would honestly enjoy it more. To all you people who say fast travel ruins games; let them put it in the game I'll use it, you don't have to. Since you will be driving downhill, you can easily keep your speed. Later in the game, you can also unlock upgrades that improve the speed of your vehicle. Thus, if you have any trouble, you can wait until later in the game. I know it's well after the release, but living in the golden age of video games means sometimes a game or two can fall through the cracks. Mafia 3 was one of those games.

Is There Fast Travel In Mafia 3
Mafia 3 takes place in New Bordeaux, which for all intents and purposes is New Orleans in 1968. Having been raised an orphan by pastor by father James (played by Gordon Greene masterfully) Lincoln Clay finds family in the black mob. After a double cross in a botched armed robbery it becomes a revenge rampage starring Lincoln Clay. Lincoln recruits the heads of lesser crime syndicates, including the star of Mafia 2, Vito Scaletta, to take over the town and create a new order in New Bordeaux.
The cutscenes have the feel of a documentary, with interviews from npcs during what is presumed to be present day. The open world gameplay is fun, with lots to do. The driving handles like you'd assume a car in the late 60's would drive; imprecise turns, lot of power slides. The in game music is severely lacking, but once again in the sixties music options were limited. There is A LOT of casual racism in the game. You will hear the n word, with a hard r, several times in this game. It is, however, always within the context of the story. Missions can be played run and gun or stealth. The A.I. is very challenging if you're playing like Rambo. If you decide to be more quiet it makes the game easier (and more rewarding in my opinion). A fast travel option would be nice, as driving to some missions can feel tedious.
- After reading through assorted pros and cons regarding Mafia 3, it seemed like a game worth picking up once it hits 20€, for which price I just found the Deluxe Edition on Sale. Until I found out.
- Mafia 3 has a unique way of directing you to your destinations. GTA doesn't have fast travel yet it's GOAT and it has repetitive missions and gameplay as well yet.
Overall, this was definitely one of the hidden gems of 2016. Honestly I was excited to have a video game character named after me that wasn't saving Zelda. If you enjoy games like mad max (which I will be reviewing soon) or GTAV then Mafia 3 is definitely worth your time. I give it 4 Creedence Clearwater Revivals out of 5. Compared to its predecessors, Mafia III from developer Hangar 13 is a massive game with a huge open world — one larger than all of its predecessors put together — for you to explore and interact with. While the game is centered around the main narrative of protagonist Lincoln Clay’s struggle, there’s plenty of side activities to do too. Heres a few quick tips on how to do just that.
Be Patient
You should be prepared to spend your first few hours in Mafia III working through the main narrative while the game holds your hand with tutorials. Like those before it, Mafia III has an extremely long (and well done) introduction to the story that helps set the stage for the rest of the game. During this intro, you’ll learn about Lincoln’s past, his adopted family, and his motivations for going after the Italian mob in New Bordeaux.
From a gameplay standpoint it’s a relatively on-rails experience — unlike the rest of Mafia III that follows it. So sit back and enjoy the ride.
Spend Time Exploring and Collecting Cash
When you first begin taking over New Bordeaux, you won’t have many resources at your disposal. As you expand your hold on the city through the first section of the game, you’ll need income to spend on upgrades and new equipment. While the small stacks of cash lying around the open world may not seem like much at first, they start to add up if you collect them continuously. If you see a stack of cash, even if it’s only $10, make sure to grab it and stash it; it’ll come in handy later.

Don’t Purchase Weapons (And Conserve Ammunition)
In Mafia III you can only carry a small amount of ammunition and equipment while roaming the city, which means you’ll usually find yourself running out of it relatively quickly. Typically, the 50 to 200 bullets at your disposal are enough to handle a single mission or a few different side missions, but when you run out you’re going to be tempted to purchase more from the arms dealer.
Don’t.
Restocking ammunition and equipment is extremely expensive early on, and enemies you kill will almost always drop new weapons for you to use instead. Sure, they may not be the best, but they work and they’re free — and that’s what matters.
Master Melee Combat
Mafia III may be a game centered on great gunplay with the occasional explosive, but that doesn’t mean melee should be left in the dust in favor of bullets. While it may be a slower approach, stealth allows you to move around and thin out the herd with some well-timed knife kills before shooting your way through to your objective.
If you’re determined to play aggressively though, make sure to take advantage of the new brutal takedowns. They may be a pain to time perfectly, but these allow you to eliminate an enemy in close quarters without using ammunition, and they’ll stun enemies around you for a short time to boot.
Recruit, Don’t Kill
When you first start taking down enemy rackets and destroying assets scattered about New Bordeaux, you’ll have the opportunity to kill enemy bosses for an instant cash bonus or spare them to add money to your own racket. While it may be tempting to go for that instant bonus to purchase some new gear, it’s always a much better idea to spare them to increase the value of your own racket.
Cheapest Way To Visit Europe
Once you control the area yourself, you’ll then gain increased income for the duration of the game instead of a relatively meager bonus on the spot. It may not seem like much at first, but it really starts to add up after you’ve secured a decent portion of Mafia III’s map.
